Content Review

  • Check your web stats. which pages are never viewed? Is it b/c your audience can't find them or b/c they're not targeted to your audience?
  • Go through each page of your site and identify outdated text and photos.
  • What's missing? Who will produce it?

Content Delivery Plan - Outline

You'll firm up the details later, but now is the time to start thinking about your content delivery plan.Who will be assigned to which content areas? Since you'll want the site to have one consistent voice, you'll want to have an editor for all content, or at the very least, a writing style guide (Publications and Marketing's Writing Style Guide). Share good web writing practices with your content providers. If you have an editor, production people or a large site, it's an excellent idea to stagger the incoming text (i.e. batch 1 due April 1, batch 2 May 1, etc.). Develop a template or example for your writers to follow. Content plan will be finalized and scheduled after you finish the Site Structure.
